Adaptive Martial Arts

Supported classes matched to the individual student.

Who this is for

Adaptive classes are designed for students who may benefit from a smaller group, more support, additional structure or an environment better suited to their individual needs. Suitability is based on the individual. Staff work with families to decide whether an Adaptive or mainstream class is the better fit; an additional need does not automatically make every child suitable for the group.

Saturday classes at HQ

Sensei Jim teaches the following groups at ZKS HQ.

  • Adaptive Mini Ninjas: 10:10–10:55, Reception–Year 2.
  • Adaptive Junior: 11:10–11:55, Year 3–Year 6.
  • Adaptive Teen: 12:10–12:55, Year 7 onward within the appropriate teen school years.

Check current availability and your confirmed class before attending. Discuss suitability with ZKS through the Members Area before booking.

Support and safety

No spectators attend HQ Adaptive classes. Tell us about the student’s needs before attending so we can discuss the support the group can safely provide. Safety and the ability to run the whole group safely remain essential.

Where behaviour creates an ongoing safety risk, ZKS may pause participation, review the arrangement with the family or end the placement. These are safety and suitability decisions, not punishment. Safeguarding takes priority. See behaviour and class safety.

Moving between programmes

Support needs do not automatically determine placement. ZKS considers each student individually, including whether mainstream or Adaptive training can offer a safe, suitable environment. See Moving Between ZKS Programmes.
