Keeping the request together
Please use the form process once it has been provided and keep follow-up messages in the Members Area conversation, rather than sending repeated separate emails. ZKS uses your answers to prepare the assessor report and may verify attendance and participation before submitting it. This is a voluntary service offered to members.
Can ZKS help with a DofE assessor report?
Yes — we’re happy to support our members where their martial arts training is being used towards an appropriate Duke of Edinburgh’s Award section and we can verify the activity.
All assessor report requests must start with a message through the Members Area. This keeps the request linked to the member’s account and helps us make sure nothing is missed.
Request through the Members Area
How to request an assessor report
- Message us through the Members Area. Select the relevant member and tell us you would like ZKS to act as their DofE assessor. Include the award level, section, activity dates and any deadline.
- Follow the instructions we send you. We’ll reply through the Members Area with our assessor report form and the next steps.
- Complete the form fully. Give clear, detailed answers about the activity, goals, progress and achievements. We need all the required information before we can assess the request.
- Reply in the Members Area to confirm the form is complete. This lets us know your information is ready for review.
- We review and verify the details. Once everything is in order and we can verify the activity and completion of the section, we complete and submit the assessor’s report to DofE.
Important next step: Completing the form does not automatically notify us or submit anything to DofE. You must message us through the Members Area after submitting it.
What information should you prepare?
Having these details ready will help you complete the assessor report form:
- The participant’s full name and eDofE ID number.
- The award level (Bronze, Silver or Gold) and the section being assessed.
- The activity start and end dates.
- The goals set at the start of the activity.
- What the participant did, how they progressed and what they achieved.
- The name and email address of the parent or guardian coordinating the request, where applicable.
Please also tell us about any school or DofE deadline when you first get in touch.
How we use your answers
The information and comments you provide form the basis of the assessor’s report we submit to DofE. Please answer carefully and give specific examples of the activities undertaken, progress made and goals achieved.
We review and verify the information and may add our own comments based on our knowledge of the member and their training. If anything is missing or needs clarification, we’ll ask you through the Members Area before completing the assessor report.
Our voluntary support and timescales
Our instructors volunteer their time to support members with DofE assessor reports. This is additional support, rather than a service included in membership, and we manage it alongside our teaching and administration.
Please allow a reasonable amount of time and contact us well before your deadline. We cannot guarantee an immediate turnaround. We’ll confirm the expected timeframe once we have verified the information.
Common questions
I’ve already spoken to an instructor. Do I still need to message?
Yes. Please record the request through the Members Area, even if you have already spoken to an instructor or listed them as your assessor. All requests and follow-up communication must go through this system so we can track them properly.
My school has a paper form or needs approval details. What should I do?
Explain exactly what the school needs in your Members Area message, including any deadline or particular arrangements. We’ll review the requirements and advise how we can help. You will still need to complete our assessor report information first.
I’ve already completed the assessor report form. What happens next?
Reply to our message in the Members Area to confirm it is complete. We can then review the information and, once verified, submit the assessor’s report.
