Behaviour and class safety

Helping every student train safely and respectfully.

What students need to do

  • Follow instructor directions and treat others respectfully.
  • Use equipment safely and only as directed.
  • Train with appropriate control, stop immediately when asked and avoid actions that put yourself or others at risk. Follow the clothing and equipment rules and remove jewellery before training.
  • A tap-out or “stop” means stop immediately.
  • Report injuries or incidents to the instructor at the time.

Working together

Tell the instructor about a concern or relevant support need so they can respond appropriately. ZKS may speak with the member or parent about concerns. Where an ongoing safety issue arises, ZKS may modify participation, pause attendance, review the placement, move the student where appropriate, or end the membership or placement if safe participation cannot be maintained. Decisions are based on safety and suitability, not punishment. The aim is to protect students and help the group train safely; safeguarding takes priority.
