Senior Black Belt in Taijutsu and Purple Belt Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu under Sensei Ben.
Biography
Sensei James Stevenson is the lead instructor at ZKS Martial Arts’ Watford Academy. His journey began at a young age, helping Sensei Ben with the Watford classes. Since then, he has grown into an instructor in his own right and become an integral part of the ZKS team.
A black belt in Taijutsu and a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu purple belt under Sensei Ben, James brings energy, enthusiasm and a fantastic rapport with members to his teaching. He also leads Watford’s Wednesday evening Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu classes under Sensei Ben’s guidance.
James shares the values at the heart of ZKS Martial Arts and makes training feel welcoming, positive and fun. As one of our younger instructors, his progression from assistant to academy lead reflects the dedication he brings to his own development and to the members he teaches.
Outside his martial arts teaching, James works as the site manager at Nascot Wood Junior School, where our Watford classes take place. His strong relationship with the school is an important part of the academy’s connection to its home.
