This advancement reflects our confidence in their readiness for this new challenge. We will notify you approximately two weeks before their 5th birthday of their new class assignment and that they are ready to move up to the Mini Ninjas syllabus.
However, if you or your child have any concerns or do not feel fully prepared for this transition, please reach out to us as soon as possible to discuss your options. If you are not happy with the assigned Mini Ninjas class, please go to our members area under "Subscription Status" and slecct your new choice of class.
Preparing for the Mini Ninja class:
- Class Duration: The Mini Ninja classes are 45 minutes long, compared to the 30-minute sessions in Little Dragons.
- Behaviour Expectations: Please remind your child that they are now expected to exhibit respectful behaviour and follow Sensei's instructions closely. Discipline may be stricter, including endurance exercises such as push-ups or sit-ups for misbehaviour.
- Increased Contact: The junior classes involve a higher level of impact and contact, including sparring with peers, not just with Sensei or focus pads.
- Uniform (Gi): Your child may want to train in a karate uniform (gi), which will become essential if they wish to participate in mini gradings and the annual main grading. Gis and other gear, like t-shirts, are available for purchase in our online shop through the members' area. Please note that free t-shirts will no longer be provided as they were in Little Dragons.
- Mandatory Kit: A "Graduation pack" worth £30 will be charged to your account for the required kit for the next stage, which includes sparring gloves and a mouthguard. These items will be delivered in your child’s next class. This will get added to your next Direct Debit.
- What they now learn: Our Mini Ninja programme not only equips children with essential martial arts skills but also prepares them for working through the belt system. please take a moment to look at our Mini Ninjas syllabus.
